A successful website launch can still be an SEO failure.

A new site can look right, load correctly, and pass design approval while important search signals quietly disappear. Migration SEO catches the risks that a normal development checklist can miss.

  • High-value URLs, rankings, and backlinks
  • Indexable content and internal-link relationships
  • Canonical, redirect, robots, and sitemap signals
  • Organic leads, ad revenue, affiliate revenue, and conversion tracking

Your developer performs the migration. We protect its search visibility.

Developer or web agency

  • Builds and deploys the website
  • Moves content, data, and files
  • Configures hosting, DNS, templates, and code
  • Implements approved redirects and corrections

Valiance Labs

  • Establishes the SEO baseline and risk register
  • Reviews URL changes and redirect mapping
  • Audits the staging website and identifies launch blockers
  • Verifies critical search elements after launch and reviews early performance

Framework change

The safest time to fix a migration problem is before launch.

Changing a URL, restoring a missing page, or correcting a crawl directive is simpler before search engines process the new site. The review begins while the team can still make deliberate decisions rather than emergency repairs.

  • Before URL structures are locked
  • Before content is removed
  • Before redirects are implemented
  • Before navigation and templates are final

A controlled migration from baseline to post-launch review

01

Protect

Benchmark what the existing website has earned and identify the pages and signals that matter most.

  • Traffic baseline
  • Priority URLs
  • Search equity
02

Plan

Turn proposed changes into SEO requirements, redirect logic, and a risk register the implementation team can use.

  • URL mapping
  • Developer requirements
  • Launch risks
03

Verify

Crawl the staging website, compare it against the current site, and identify issues that should be corrected before launch.

  • Staging review
  • Content parity
  • Launch blockers
04

Monitor

Verify the live release and review early signals so preventable issues are surfaced before they become larger losses.

  • Live checks
  • Indexation
  • Early performance

Add migration SEO to your website project without hiring internally.

Valiance Labs works alongside your developers and project managers. Your agency keeps the client relationship and implementation work while we supply the SEO requirements, staging review, launch checks, and post-launch findings.

  • Your agency keeps implementation ownership
  • Developer-ready findings and a fixed project price
  • No direct client contact unless you request it
  • No required monthly retainer

Traffic or rankings have materially declined and the cause is unclear

Traffic & Rankings Loss Audit

For established websites with organic visibility worth protecting

Good fit

  • A redesign, CMS change, replatforming, domain move, or URL restructure is planned
  • Meaningful organic traffic, rankings, revenue, leads, or valuable landing pages already exist
  • One primary domain, one planned launch, and a launch window within 90 days
  • A staging or preview environment will be available for review
  • A developer or agency is responsible for implementation
  • Search Console access or exports can be provided

Not the right fit

  • Brand-new sites with no existing organic visibility to protect
  • Hosting-only moves with no meaningful SEO risk
  • Projects already launched with a material traffic decline
  • Projects without a developer, implementation team, or staging environment
  • A requirement for Valiance Labs to build, deploy, host, or migrate the website
  • A guarantee that rankings, traffic, leads, or revenue will not fluctuate
  • Large multi-domain, international, enterprise, or multi-launch migrations outside the fixed-price scope

The search signals that must survive the move

Priority URLs, current traffic, rankings, backlinks, and indexed footprint
Old-to-new URL mapping and redirect strategy
Content parity, metadata, headings, assets, and structured information
Internal linking, navigation, breadcrumbs, and crawl depth
Canonicals, robots directives, status codes, sitemaps, and indexation controls
Staging rendering, JavaScript output, mobile behavior, and crawler accessibility
Structured data, analytics, conversion tracking, and Search Console continuity
Launch-day checks and early post-launch search performance
Launch blockers, responsible parties, and developer-ready corrections

A developer-ready migration plan and documented launch review

Pre-migration baseline for priority pages, traffic, rankings, and search equity
Migration SEO plan and risk register with clear launch priorities
URL and redirect mapping requirements with high-value exceptions
Developer requirements and a practical launch checklist
One complete staging review and consolidated issue list
One scheduled launch verification
One early post-launch review for crawl, indexation, redirects, and tracking continuity
One kickoff call and one final handoff call
A monitoring plan for the period after the included project window

SEO oversight, not website development

Not website design, development, CMS setup, database transfer, hosting migration, DNS configuration, or deployment
Not redirect implementation, template rebuilding, content entry, or complete content rewriting
Not full analytics implementation, paid advertising, ongoing SEO management, or monthly reporting
Not unlimited staging audits, multiple launch reviews, recurring meetings, or emergency 24-hour engineering support
Not a manual review of every page or every possible SEO issue
Not a guarantee of unchanged rankings, traffic, leads, revenue, or zero post-launch volatility
Not post-migration recovery after a material decline; that is a separate diagnostic service

Already launched and lost substantial traffic?

Migration SEO is preventive work for a planned or recently launched move. If traffic or rankings have already materially declined and the cause is unclear, start with a Traffic & Rankings Loss Audit.

Built around one planned migration and launch

Scope

The $1,499 service covers one qualifying migration, one staging environment, one planned launch, and one primary domain. It remains active for up to 90 calendar days after work begins. Major scope changes, extra staging rounds, additional domains, or a delayed project may need requalification.

Tools

The review combines manual analysis, crawls, Search Console, analytics, redirect testing, and third-party tools where useful. Read-only Search Console access or exports are normally required. Staging access is required for the included review; CMS or hosting admin access is not required unless agreed.

Turnaround

The initial plan is normally delivered within 5 business days after access and project information are received. It includes one complete staging review, one scheduled launch verification, and one early post-launch review. Payment is due after acceptance and before work begins.

Need help after the migration review?

Your developer or agency remains responsible for implementation. If the project needs further hands-on help after the included review window, we can discuss a separate partnership without taking over the build.

FAQ

Do I pay when I submit the project?+

No. Submitting the migration project is free. We review the website, proposed changes, and expected launch timing first. If it fits, we confirm the $1,499 fixed price before work begins.

Does Valiance Labs migrate the website?+

No. Your developer or agency builds, deploys, hosts, and implements the migration. Valiance Labs provides SEO planning, staging review, launch verification, and early post-launch review.

When should migration SEO begin?+

Before URL structures, content removals, navigation, templates, and redirects are final. The earlier the review starts, the cheaper it is to correct a risk before launch.

Can you guarantee that rankings will not move?+

No. Search engines can show temporary ranking and traffic fluctuation while they process a significant move. The service reduces preventable risk; it cannot guarantee unchanged rankings, clicks, leads, or revenue.

Is staging access required?+

Yes, for the included staging review. The preview should be sufficiently complete to assess URLs, templates, indexation controls, rendered content, internal links, canonicals, sitemaps, and redirects.

Is Search Console required?+

Read-only Search Console access or exports are normally required. The baseline helps identify the pages, queries, and search equity that the migration needs to protect.

Do you create or implement the redirect map?+

The service includes URL and redirect requirements, plus review of a proposed map. Your developer or agency remains responsible for implementing and testing redirects on the live infrastructure.

Can an agency submit a client project?+

Yes. Agencies can submit a client migration, attend the calls, and use the developer-ready findings in their own delivery. We do not contact an agency's client unless requested.

What happens if the launch is delayed?+

The fixed-price service is active for up to 90 calendar days after work begins. A reasonable launch reschedule can be accommodated, but material delays, new staging builds, or changed scope may need requalification.

What if the website has more than 1,000 pages?+

Page count is one factor, not the only one. We review the templates, URL patterns, languages, domains, and migration complexity before accepting a fixed-price project.

Can you support WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, or Next.js migrations?+

Yes, when the project fits the scope. The review looks at the search signals and rendered output of the migration, not only the platform name.

What if traffic has already dropped?+

If a migration has already launched and traffic or rankings materially declined, the Traffic & Rankings Loss Audit is usually the better starting point because the work shifts from prevention to diagnosis.
