Weebly to WordPress, including what Weebly’s export leaves out

Square now points new sites to Square Online, and Weebly’s own export skips blog and store pages. We bring your pages, blog, store, and images to WordPress and transfer your domain. Every page that ranks or has links gets a redirect, and we monitor search for 90 days after launch.

Who this Weebly to WordPress migration is for

A good fit

  • Small-business, service, and portfolio sites that have outgrown Weebly
  • Sites with a Weebly blog that has years of posts and search traffic
  • Small Weebly stores that want more payment, shipping, or plugin options
  • Owners who want a site they control, with any developer able to work on it

Probably not a fit

  • Stores already running on Square that want to stay there (Square Online may fit better)
  • One-page sites that get no search traffic, where a fresh build is simpler
  • Large stores with thousands of products, which we quote separately

Why Weebly sites are moving

Weebly still runs in the US, but Square, which owns it, has been steering customers elsewhere.

  • Square points new sites to Square Online

Square says it has no plans to discontinue Weebly, but encourages new sites to be built with Square Online for the most up-to-date features.

  • The Weebly app is gone

The Weebly mobile app can’t be downloaded anymore. It only works for people who already had it installed on December 15, 2025.

  • Weebly closed in 67 countries

Square wound Weebly down in 67 countries in 2026, unpublishing sites there on September 27. The US, Canada, the UK, and Australia were not included.

What moves from Weebly to WordPress

Pages are rebuilt to match your current site, and we copy your blog posts, images, and products across ourselves. Forms and slideshows are rebuilt in WordPress.

What moves from Weebly to WordPress
PagesRebuiltEvery page is rebuilt in WordPress to match the live site, with its text, images, and SEO.
Blog postsMoves unchangedWeebly’s site export leaves the blog out, so we move every post, image, and category ourselves.
Images and filesMoves unchangedDownloaded from Weebly and re-hosted, including PDFs linked from other sites.
Contact forms and slideshowsRebuiltWeebly’s forms and slideshows don’t work outside Weebly, so they’re rebuilt and connected to the same inbox.
Store productsMoves unchangedExported from Weebly and imported into WooCommerce, with every product image checked by hand.
Past ordersMoves, with changesExported from Weebly for your records. Orders don’t move into the new store.
Domain and emailMoves, with changesWe unlock your domain and move it, or point it to the new site. If your email runs through Weebly, we plan its move first so you don’t miss any messages.

Redirects and URLs

Where Weebly to WordPress moves lose traffic

Weebly addresses follow patterns WordPress doesn’t use by default. Each one needs a matching redirect.

  • .html page addresses

Every Weebly page address ends in .html. WordPress doesn’t, so each page gets its own redirect.

  • Old blog addresses

Older Weebly blogs used addresses like /1/post/2014/04/post-name.html. Weebly forwards these automatically today, but that stops when your Weebly site closes, so we give each old post address its own redirect.

  • Store addresses

Product and category pages have their own Weebly address format. We collect every one when we plan your move and redirect each to the matching product.

  • Redirects you added in Weebly

Any redirects you or a past developer set up in Weebly’s settings only work while the site is on Weebly. We copy each one over to WordPress.

  • Files linked from other sites

PDFs and images hosted on Weebly break once the account closes. We move them and redirect their old addresses.

How a Weebly to WordPress migration works, step by step

  1. 01

    Quote

Send your site. We review it and send a quote and timeline within one business day.

  2. 02

    Build

We map every old page to its new address, rebuild your templates, and move content, images, and SEO on a private preview site you can check.

  3. 03

    Launch

We compare the old and new sites page by page, point your domain to the new site, tell Google about the new pages, and test each redirect once it’s live.

  4. 04

    Monitor

For 90 days we watch which pages Google indexes and how much traffic your moved pages get. Anything our work caused, we fix at no cost, with reports at 30, 60, and 90 days.

What we guarantee, and what we can’t

No one can promise how Google will rank your site after a move, including us. What we can promise is the work that protects your rankings, done carefully and put in writing.

Ask us about the guarantee

What no one can promise

Google decides rankings, not us. Even a careful migration can cause some movement while Google recrawls the new site and works out what changed, and it can take a few weeks to settle.

Google also changes how it ranks sites throughout the year. If an update shifts your traffic, that isn’t something any migration team controls. Anyone who guarantees your rankings is promising something they can’t deliver.

What we do promise

We take every precaution we know of, and we stay accountable after launch.

  • Every page we can find gets a new home. We collect old addresses from your sitemap, Google Search Console, analytics, and links from other sites. Each one gets a destination: the matching page, the closest match, or a removal you’ve agreed to. You see the full list before launch.

  • Nothing is removed by accident. Pages you choose to retire are removed on purpose. If any other old link stops working after launch, we fix it.

  • We watch for 90 days. After launch we track which pages Google indexes, any errors it reports, and traffic to the pages we moved, and we send you a report at 30, 60, and 90 days.

  • If it’s our mistake, we fix it for free. If something we missed or broke causes a problem in those 90 days, we fix it at no cost.

What it doesn’t cover

The guarantee covers our work. It doesn’t cover Google algorithm updates, content you change after launch, pages removed at your request, or problems caused by your host, third-party plugins, or other vendors.

When you should stay on Weebly

If your site is small, gets little search traffic, and does what you need, there’s no rush. Square hasn’t announced any shutdown in the US. If your business already runs on Square and you want everything in one place, moving to Square Online may suit you better than WordPress.

Is Weebly shutting down?

Square hasn’t announced a shutdown in the US. It closed Weebly in 67 other countries in 2026, and its support pages say it has no plans to discontinue Weebly, while pointing new sites to Square Online.

Can’t I just use Weebly’s export?

Weebly’s export is a zip file of your pages. It leaves out blog and store pages, and forms and slideshows stop working outside Weebly, so it isn’t a working site on its own.

Will our URLs change?

Yes, because Weebly addresses end in .html. Every old address gets its own redirect, including old blog and store addresses.

Can you move our Weebly store?

Yes. Products move into WooCommerce on WordPress, and past orders are exported for your records. Larger stores are quoted separately.

What happens to our domain and email?

We unlock your domain and transfer it, or point it at the new site. If your email runs through Weebly, we plan that move first so you don’t miss any messages.

How long does it take?

Most Weebly sites with up to 15 pages and a blog take two to four weeks.
