Replit migration to your own cloud, with the same code and company sign-in

For Replit apps your staff or customers now rely on. The code stays as it is. We move it to your GitHub, copy the production database into Postgres you own, move your files, replace Replit Auth with a login you own, and deploy the app to your hosting with separate test and production databases and backups.

Who this Replit migration is for

A good fit

  • Apps built by a business team that now hold customer or company data
  • Apps your IT or security team needs to review, host, or connect to company sign-in
  • Teams that want the code, database, and hosting in accounts the company owns
  • Apps whose Replit bill has become hard to predict

Probably not a fit

  • Teams happy to keep building in Replit, with no sensitive data in the app
  • Apps that need a full rebuild in a different framework, which we quote separately

Why companies move apps off Replit

Replit gets an app running fast and hosts it for you. Companies move when the app needs company sign-in, predictable costs, and infrastructure their IT team controls.

  • Sign-in runs on Replit accounts

Replit Auth uses Replit’s own login system, so your users’ accounts live with Replit. The move Replit documents is to Clerk, not to your company’s sign-in.

  • Agent costs are hard to predict

In September 2025, The Register reported a Replit user who spent $1,000 in one week, and Replit acknowledging its pricing can end up being more expensive over the lifetime of a project.

  • An agent with access to production

In July 2025, SaaStr founder Jason Lemkin reported that Replit’s agent deleted his database during a code freeze. Replit’s CEO called it unacceptable and began rolling out automatic separation of test and production databases.

  • Running on your own cloud is still in preview

Replit’s options for running apps in your company’s cloud account are in private preview or early access.

What moves from Replit to your own cloud

Your code moves as it is. What changes is where it runs, where the data lives, and how people sign in.

What moves from Replit to your own cloud
App codeMoves unchangedMoved to your company’s GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket without a rewrite.
Production databaseMoves unchangedCopied from Replit’s Postgres into a Postgres database you own, such as Supabase, Amazon RDS, or Google Cloud SQL, then checked record by record.
Stored filesMoves unchangedCopied out of Replit’s App Storage into file storage you own, with links updated.
Replit AuthRebuiltReplaced with a login you own: company sign-in for staff, or email or Google sign-in for customers. Users are matched to their records by email, and we map any that don’t match before launch.
Secrets and settingsMoves, with changesAPI keys and settings move into your hosting’s secret storage.
Test and productionRebuiltSeparate test and production databases, with daily backups, set up in your accounts.
Custom domainMoves, with changesYour domain is pointed at the new hosting at launch.

What a company needs before an AI-built app goes live

AI builders get an app working. Before it holds customer data or carries your brand, it also needs what your IT, security, and marketing teams expect from any company system. Your quote lists which of these your app needs.

  • Company sign-in

Staff sign in through your identity provider, such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra ID, or Okta. When IT turns off an account, that person can’t sign in again, and session limits end any open session.

  • Data security review

We check who can read and change each table, move secret keys out of the browser, and test that one user can’t see another user’s records.

  • Forms that reach your CRM

Forms send leads to HubSpot, Salesforce, or Marketo, so nothing is stuck in the app’s own database.

  • Analytics and consent

Google Analytics and Tag Manager are set up to respect your consent banner, so tracking matches the rest of your site.

  • Accessibility checked

We check the app’s templates against WCAG 2.1 AA before launch and tell you what needs fixing.

  • Ownership and handover

The code lives in your GitHub, the hosting and database in your accounts, with notes your engineers can pick up. We monitor search for 90 days after launch, as on every migration.

Redirects and URLs

What to check when moving off Replit

Most Replit apps sit behind a login, so the work is less about rankings and more about making sure every user and connection lands in the right place.

  • The replit.app address

Every Replit app has an address ending in replit.app. After launch we take it down or point people to the new app, so there aren’t two copies.

  • Your custom domain

Replit connects custom domains with an A record and a verification TXT record. At launch we replace both with the records your new hosting needs, so bookmarks and links keep working.

  • Sign-in and callback addresses

Login links and the addresses other services call back to, such as payment and sign-in providers, are updated to the new app.

  • Public pages

Any public pages keep their addresses, and we verify the domain in Search Console and submit the sitemap at launch.

Where your app runs after the move

Replit apps are usually Node.js servers with a Postgres database, so they run on most hosting. We set it up in your account, not ours.

  • Your AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure account

For teams whose security policy requires company-owned infrastructure. We deploy into your account and document how it runs.

  • A managed platform such as Render or Railway

Hosting for apps with a server and database, with less to manage than a cloud account.

  • Vercel or Cloudflare

A good fit when the app is mostly pages and short server functions. Not for apps with live connections (WebSockets), background workers, or files saved to disk.

How a Replit migration works, step by step

  1. 01

    Quote

Send your site. We review it and send a quote and timeline within one business day.

  2. 02

    Build

We map every old page to its new address, rebuild your templates, and move content, images, and SEO on a private preview site you can check.

  3. 03

    Launch

We compare the old and new sites page by page, point your domain to the new site, tell Google about the new pages, and test each redirect once it’s live.

  4. 04

    Monitor

For 90 days we watch which pages Google indexes and how much traffic your moved pages get. Anything our work caused, we fix at no cost, with reports at 30, 60, and 90 days.

What we guarantee, and what we can’t

No one can promise how Google will rank your site after a move, including us. What we can promise is the work that protects your rankings, done carefully and put in writing.

Ask us about the guarantee

What no one can promise

Google decides rankings, not us. Even a careful migration can cause some movement while Google recrawls the new site and works out what changed, and it can take a few weeks to settle.

Google also changes how it ranks sites throughout the year. If an update shifts your traffic, that isn’t something any migration team controls. Anyone who guarantees your rankings is promising something they can’t deliver.

What we do promise

We take every precaution we know of, and we stay accountable after launch.

  • Every page we can find gets a new home. We collect old addresses from your sitemap, Google Search Console, analytics, and links from other sites. Each one gets a destination: the matching page, the closest match, or a removal you’ve agreed to. You see the full list before launch.

  • Nothing is removed by accident. Pages you choose to retire are removed on purpose. If any other old link stops working after launch, we fix it.

  • We watch for 90 days. After launch we track which pages Google indexes, any errors it reports, and traffic to the pages we moved, and we send you a report at 30, 60, and 90 days.

  • If it’s our mistake, we fix it for free. If something we missed or broke causes a problem in those 90 days, we fix it at no cost.

What it doesn’t cover

The guarantee covers our work. It doesn’t cover Google algorithm updates, content you change after launch, pages removed at your request, or problems caused by your host, third-party plugins, or other vendors.

When you don’t need to migrate

If the app is an internal tool with no sensitive data, and your team is happy building in Replit, staying is often the right call. Replit’s Enterprise plan adds single sign-on. Move when the app holds data your company is responsible for, needs to pass a security review, or has to run on infrastructure your company controls.

Get a migration quote
How much does it cost?

From $3,500 for apps without user logins, with the code, database, files, and hosting moved. Apps with user logins start at $6,000, with Replit Auth replaced by company sign-in. You get a quote before any work begins.

Do you rewrite the app?

No. Replit apps are standard code, so they move as they are. If you want the app rebuilt in Next.js, we quote that separately.

What happens to our users?

Replit Auth accounts live with Replit, so we replace it with company sign-in for staff or email or Google sign-in for customers. Users are matched to their data by email, we map any that don’t match before launch, and everyone signs in once with the new login.

What happens to our database?

We copy the production database into Postgres you own and check every table before launch. You also get separate test and production databases and daily backups.

Can it use our company login?

Yes, for staff. We connect sign-in to your identity provider, such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra ID, or Okta, so staff use the accounts they already have. When IT turns off an account, that person can’t sign in again, and we set session limits so any open session ends too. Customers can keep signing in with email or Google.

Can our team keep building with AI tools afterward?

Yes. The code is in your GitHub, so Replit, Cursor, Claude Code, and similar tools can all work on it, and your engineers review changes before they go live.

How long does it take?

Most apps take two to four weeks. Replacing sign-in and larger databases add time, and your quote includes the timeline.
